My Review

The Devil's Work is an exceptionally well-constructed, gripping, psychological thriller. It's the first novel I've read by Mark Edwards and phew, I loved it!

Sophie Greenwood is returning to work in the publishing sector after being a stay-at-home mum to young daughter Daisy. She's secured her dream job at Jackdaw Books and is determined to make a success of it. However, she soon discovers things aren't quite as they seem. What really happened to her predecessor and why is colleague Cassie overstepping the mark? Sophie desperately wants to fit in and be respected but feels threatened from those around her. Someone is trying to frighten her and events soon take a sickening turn...

The Devil's Work seamlessly flits between the present day and Sophie's former life at university. Events are carefully and skillfully interwoven culminating in a thrilling page-turner of a ride!
