πŸ“•My Review

Recently separated from her husband and living with a friend, Ali is persuaded to go on a night out with a man she's met on a dating app. The following morning she awakens alone and bleeding but with no recollection of what happened the night before. Her injuries leave her with a condition called Prosopagnosia, otherwise known as Face Blindness. When her attacker anonymously taunts her, Ali is all too aware her nightmare is just beginning.

Firstly I have to comment on the book's stunning cover art. It's professional, eye-catching and beautiful. I love it for being totally gorgeous! It's sure to stand out from the crowd when it hits the booksellers' shelves in June 2018. Full marks for that.

Now to the nitty gritty. Having read quite a lot of psychological thrillers recently, this one was very enjoyable. The plot was good - incorporating Prosopagnosia was certainly something I've never come across in my many years of reading. However, I did wonder if it was an itsy-bitsy too convenient in regard to the direction the plotline took.

Moving on, I thought the pacing was excellent. It was fast and punchy without any needless dawdling or padding. The writing was faultless and flowed extremely well. This is an author who can tell an exciting, tangled story. There were so many twists and turns my head was spinning. It was engaging, tense and suspenseful. You can't really ask for more.

* My thanks to Louise Jensen, NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with a copy of this book.

πŸ“—The Blurb

Something bad has happened to Alison Taylor.

Her Saturday night started normally. Recently separated from her husband, Ali has been persuaded by her friends to go on a date with a new man. She is ready, she is nervous, she is excited. She is about to take a step into her new future.

By Sunday morning, Ali’s life is unrecognisable. She wakes, and she knows that something is wrong. She is home, she is alone, she is hurt and she has no memory of what happened to her.

Worse still, when she looks in the mirror, Ali doesn’t recognise the face staring back at her. She can’t recognise her friends and family. And she can’t recognise the person who is trying to destroy her…
